Huihui Dict Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Huihui Dict handles information in the iOS app and related backend services.
1. Information we process
- Account data: Supabase user ID, email address, phone number when you use SMS sign-in, display name, and the limited account information returned by Apple or Google if you choose those sign-in methods.
- Learning activity: selected languages, preferences, books, favorites, search history, review results, reading and conversation progress, study queues, and synchronization state.
- User submissions: feedback text and any contact details you voluntarily include.
- Technical data: app version, platform, language, service requests, and error and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
- Membership data: when you use Apple In-App Purchase, we send Apple an app-specific account identifier so the purchase can be associated with your Huihui Dict account. We receive and process the product identifier, transaction and original-transaction identifiers, purchase, expiration, and revocation dates, transaction environment, and subscription-status notifications from Apple. We store the plan, entitlement, status, relevant dates, and transaction-reference records to verify purchases, prevent duplicate or fraudulent use, restore entitlements, and apply renewals, cancellations, or refunds. Huihui Dict does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
2. Microphone and speech recognition
When you tap the microphone in Shadowing practice, the iOS app requests microphone and speech-recognition permission and uses Apple Speech Recognition to transcribe the Japanese you speak. The live audio may be processed by Apple under its own service and privacy policies. Huihui Dict does not upload that audio or the resulting transcript to its own backend, and keeps the transcript only temporarily in the current practice page.
Huihui Dict does not directly collect full payment-card information, advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, photos, or health data, and it does not use data for cross-app tracking.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, provide learning features, synchronize progress, respond to feedback, prevent abuse, secure the service, diagnose failures, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.
4. Service providers and third-party SDKs
- Supabase provides authentication, cloud database, and synchronized storage.
- Apple and Google receive the information required when you choose their sign-in services. Apple also distributes the iOS app, delivers device notifications you enable, processes speech recognition when you use Shadowing, and processes in-app purchases. For an Apple In-App Purchase, we share the app-specific account identifier described above and receive Apple-signed transaction details and server-to-server subscription-status notifications for verification and entitlement management.
- Google Cloud hosts the Huihui Dict production API and may process service requests and operational logs.
- Resend sends support-notification emails when you submit feedback. It receives the feedback message, any contact details you choose to provide, and the route, app version, platform, language, and metadata needed to investigate and respond to the request.
- App distribution or payment platforms may process purchases and provide transaction or subscription identifiers when paid membership is offered.
These providers process data under their own policies and contractual or platform safeguards. Huihui Dict contains no advertising SDK.
5. Local storage and cloud synchronization
Guest records, settings, and caches may remain only on your device. After sign-in, learning records, membership status, and queued operations may be stored in Supabase. Clearing a local cache does not automatically delete cloud account data, and deleting the app may remove local changes that have not synchronized.
6. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service, maintain an account, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We use HTTPS, access controls, permission separation, and database row-level security. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Your choices and account deletion
You can change preferences, disable notifications, clear local caches, sign out, and delete your account in the app. If you cannot access the app, use the public account deletion page. Deleting your Huihui Dict account does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage or cancel it through your Apple account. Subject to applicable law, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or export through Settings > Feedback.
8. International processing
Cloud providers may process information outside your country or region. We use the contractual, security, and other safeguards required by applicable law.
9. Children
The service is not directed to young children acting without guardian consent. Users below the age at which they can independently consent in their region should have a guardian review this policy.
10. Changes and contact
